The document states that six inter-garrison courts, the Belarusian Military Court, the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court, as well as the conference and qualification collegium of military court judges are being liquidated.
Furthermore, on June 26, Decree No. 297 "On the Appointment and Dismissal of Judges of the Courts of the Republic of Belarus and Issues of the Judicial System's Operation" was signed. The document, in particular, states that from July 1, more than 10 military judges will be relieved of their duties and will become judges of the Supreme Court and other general courts. Additionally, two military judges will retire, and another will be dismissed due to a transfer to other work.
As reported, in December 2013, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Belarus, Valentin Sukalo, stated that upon the abolition of military courts, employment issues for military judges would be resolved, and no human fate would be broken. He also explained that there are individuals who have worked as military judges for a considerable time: "They have a few years or even months left until they reach 20 years of service. Of course, each such case requires an individual approach." -0-
