The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, spoke about the growth points of the real sector of the economy in Vitebsk on the "Question Number One" program.
The Vitebsk region has a whole cluster in petrochemistry; a project for deeper oil processing has been completed, and petrochemical companies are now closely looking towards petrochemistry itself and what can be obtained from oil (namely, various chemical compounds used to produce clothing, plastic, etc.). "This is a prospect for the plant's development," believes the governor.
Alexander Subbotin also mentioned that Vitebsk has a huge cluster for hydraulic lifts. "Moreover, during these challenging sanction times, they have built and commissioned another plant for high-tonnage cranes this year. This means they are developing," noted the head of the regional executive committee.

"We have several water treatment enterprises. Just one small enterprise, which also added another production facility this year, has created over a thousand facilities in the Russian Federation.
JSC "Vitebskie Kovry" is also getting a new lease of life. "Carpets might seem out of fashion, but the enterprise has expanded its range and produces bedside rugs in various colour palettes, and even makes carpet pictures that are worthy gifts for any occasion. The enterprise "Vitebskie Kovry" has found its niche and is experiencing a rebirth," stated Alexander Subbotin.
