May 4, Minsk Region /Elena Prus - BELTA/. The issue of raising the retirement age in Belarus has been removed from the agenda. This was stated to journalists by Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Tozik, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. "The issue of raising the retirement age - and this is the position of the head of state - is not on the practical agenda and is not being discussed," said the Deputy Prime Minister. He recalled that a decree provides citizens with the opportunity to voluntarily postpone retirement after reaching the generally established retirement age. In this case, the choice remains with the individual: to continue working without receiving a pension in order to increase the amount of their future pension, or to not use this opportunity. Anatoly Tozik emphasized that pensions in Belarus are paid on time, in full, and are regularly increased. For example, this year, in accordance with the decree, four recalculations of labor pensions are planned due to wage growth. Pension payments were increased starting from February and May of this year, with recalculations expected in August and November. -0-
