President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko heard a report on the activities of the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The head of state invited Igor Shunevich, Chairman of the state public association, and Leonid Zayats, Deputy Prime Minister, to the event.
Addressing Igor Shunevich, the head of state said: "As far as I understand, you initiated this conversation because the decision made by the government is not quite what the society would like."
The head of state noted that all these issues would be considered at the state level without any departmental approach. "You understand, there are state interests, personal interests, and the interests of society. But we need to act reasonably – in a way that is best for the state and for the people who are members of our organization today," said the Belarusian leader.
The list of issues presented to the President includes a topic concerning the production of ammunition for smooth-bore weapons. "I don't see anything wrong with this. Let's think about how to do it better," stated the head of state.
Also on the agenda is the issue of amending legislation on the circulation of weapons and ammunition. "We can also consider this issue," the President noted.
One of the topics for discussion concerns the regulation of the population of animals and birds listed in the Red Book of Belarus. "This is a super-state issue, very important for our country's image as well," remarked the head of state.
A separate issue concerns the charter of the public association. "What is in there that was not agreed upon in the government?" the President inquired.
He also expressed his readiness to discuss a number of other issues that would benefit the state: "Such as the fact that somewhere in Minsk, as far as I remember, you are claiming some separate building, and the issue is allegedly still unresolved. And a number of problems that need to be solved have stalled at the level of government officials below the President."
