Police and Emergency Ministry employees spent 8 hours searching for a mother and her 3-year-old daughter who got lost in the forest, the head of the Orsha District Department of Internal Affairs, Leonid Mikhailov, told a BELTA correspondent. The police learned about the incident on September 15 at 17:40. A worried man reported that his wife had called him on his mobile phone and informed him that she and their daughter had gotten lost in the forest. The search began immediately. 25 employees of the Orsha District Department of Internal Affairs, joined by 2 Emergency Ministry crews in vehicles and police officers from the Bogushevskoye department of the Senno District Department of Internal Affairs, set off for the presumed location of the missing persons. In total, about 40 people were involved in the search. According to Leonid Mikhailov, contact with the woman was maintained continuously via mobile phone. The Emergency Ministry vehicles sounded their horns. Signal flares were launched to illuminate the area. As a result, at 1:40 AM, the unfortunate mushroom pickers were found in a swamp.
