This year, rapeseed yielded a good harvest and considerable profit. The farm delivered over 250 tons of rapeseed to the Vitebsk Oil Extraction Plant. 83 percent was classified as first-class, for which they received 4180 thousand rubles per ton, earning over a billion rubles. The crop's profitability is 11 percent. 270 hectares have been allocated for winter rapeseed. The decision was made not to increase the area under this crop.
Wheat, grasses, and barley are considered the best predecessors for winter rapeseed. The land previously used for winter wheat was ploughed first. Potassium and phosphorus fertilizers were applied to the soil. One of the most challenging and responsible agricultural operations – ploughing – was entrusted to the experienced tractor driver Pyotr Papko, who ploughed all 270 hectares on an MTZ-3022 tractor with an eight-furrow reversible plough. Ivan Bacharov was responsible for disc harrowing the soil.
Sowing 270 hectares is no small feat. In earlier times, this operation could have stretched for almost a month. However, today the villagers are equipped with powerful, energy-intensive, multifunctional machinery, allowing tractor driver Pyotr Kozlovsky to complete the winter rapeseed sowing alone. He also uses an energy-intensive tractor with an APP-6D sowing unit.
What varieties to sow? The quality of seed material is the key to a high yield. It is not for nothing that our ancestors said: "What you sow, you shall reap." All 270 hectares of winter rapeseed at "Ladasna" were sown with the "Lidar" variety of Belarusian selection. And not just elite, but super-elite. The Vitebsk Oil Extraction Plant, which is directly interested in high-quality produce from the fields, supplies seed material of such high quality to the farms. All sowing operations were carried out within the most optimal agrotechnical deadlines – from August 4th to 15th.
Winter wheat is now on the production line. As of the morning of September 13th, 439 out of the planned 970 hectares for winter cereals have been sown. Of these, 100 hectares were sown with "Sinezia" variety seeds of Polish selection, first reproduction. The remainder is the "Syuyita" variety of Belarusian selection, also first reproduction.
