Collisions between vehicles and wild animals on roads are, unfortunately, a frequent occurrence. The majority of traffic accidents involving animals happen during nighttime.
To avoid accidents, the State Automobile Inspectorate recommends that drivers observe the following rules:
reduce speed when encountering a warning sign on the road;
exercise extreme caution, especially during evening and nighttime hours (animals are particularly active in the evening, at dusk);
if animals appear on the roadway, quickly but carefully reduce the vehicle's speed (sudden braking can lead to multiple injuries for the driver and passengers);
allow the animal to leave the road;
do not attempt to swerve around the animal (in panic, it may dart from side to side on the road);
do not use the horn;
after the animal has moved off the road, do not immediately accelerate, as a frightened animal may return.
