1 June, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. All districts of the Vitebsk region have started the first mowing of perennial grasses, reported Sergey Dogel, Chairman of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, to a BELTA correspondent.
Agrarians are to mow perennial grasses on an area of 250 thousand hectares. As of the morning of June 1, 20 thousand hectares have already been harvested. The leaders in mowing are farms in Dubrovensky, Dokshitsky, Gluboksky, Tolochinsky, and Chashniksky districts.
It is planned to complete the harvesting of first-mown grasses in the second half of June. It is planned to procure 760 thousand tons of feed units, or 17 centners of feed units per conventional head of cattle.
"Currently, mowing is a priority area of activity for rural workers. We have started this work in an organized manner, without delays in the development phases of perennial grasses," added Sergey Dogel.-0-
