All creative groups of the city will take part in the festive events on the occasion of Independence Day in Vitebsk, the Department of Culture of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. In the city on the Daugava, the celebration of Independence Day on July 3 will begin with a solemn laying of flowers at the Monument to the Liberators and a rally with the participation of the leadership of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the City Executive Committee, and the public. Then there will be a large choreographic performance "Kvitney, Belarus!", which will involve athletes and artists (including the youngest) of the city. Performances by creative groups of Vitebsk on this day can be seen on all concert venues of the city. Entertainment programs have also been prepared by the Soviet Army Cultural and Recreational Complex, the Railway Workers' Park of Culture and Recreation, the "Golden Ring of Vitebsk "Dvina" complex, and the city zoo. The attention of citizens will be drawn to the pedestrian zones on Suvorov and Tolstoy streets, where an exhibition-fair of works by Vitebsk artists and folk craftsmen will be held, and performances by musicians playing folk instruments will take place. Activists of the BRSM will also add their note to the general celebration: young people will offer passers-by symbolic red and green ribbons. In the evening, Vitebsk residents and guests of the city will gather on Victory Square for a concert and the "Let's Sing the Anthem Together" event. The eventful day will conclude with a festive fireworks display. Folk festivals and festive concerts will also be held on the occasion of Independence Day in other cities and district centers of the Vitebsk region.-0-
