The Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) opens today in Belarus, according to BELTA.
Its key event will be the country's first exhibition-forum of innovative companies and startups, Gew Belarus, which will take place on November 13 and 14 at the BelExpo National Exhibition Centre. The forum will bring together business and government representatives in one venue for experience exchange, development strategy definition, valuable knowledge acquisition, and useful networking.
On November 13, the Belbiz Battle startup competition will be held with the support of the UK Embassy in Belarus. The competition will be beneficial for real sector companies, infrastructure support and development organisations, as well as for the new generation of entrepreneurs. Belbiz Battle is the best opportunity to present your idea at the national level, attract new users, and gain access to European business accelerators. This year, five winning teams will be selected – they will travel to London to be presented to international investors.
The forum programme also includes an event for children and teenagers – the AdVenture business conference. It will be held on November 14.
This year, entrepreneurs will be able to present their services or products at the exhibition with a dedicated stand. This opportunity is available to all companies that value technology and innovation, but priority will be given to startups.
Global Entrepreneurship Week is an annual global event that unites 170 countries in the search for new ideas for entrepreneurs. In 2018, from November 12 to 18, GEW will bring together over 15,000 partner organisations worldwide with the support of the Kauffman Foundation. Global Entrepreneurship Week has been held in Belarus since 2011. The official representative is Business Communication Centre "Belbiz" LLC. GEW Belarus partners include the United States Agency for International Development, the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Economy, the International Finance Corporation, and the UK Embassy. The event will be held with the support of the Council of Ministers of Belarus.
