November 14, Minsk /BELTA/. World Quality Day is celebrated today in Belarus, reports BELTA.
This holiday is held within the framework of the European Quality Week (November 11-17), the motto of which is "Achieve Quality - Achieve Success".
In Belarus, issues of improving the quality and competitiveness of products, and increasing export potential are included in the main development programs that the country is working on, the State Committee for Standardization noted. The State Committee for Standardization, together with industry, science, and business, is working to form a competitive economy and ensure the social interests of society.
The effectiveness of the technical policy pursued in the country is largely determined by the level of development of legislation in the field of technical regulation. In Belarus, it is constantly updated and expanded to meet the rapidly changing international requirements and the current tasks of developing the national economy and integration processes.
In particular, in connection with the formation of innovative mechanisms in technical policy and the functioning of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space, the preparation of two draft laws of Belarus on a package basis is envisaged. This concerns amendments and additions to the law "On Technical Regulation and Standardization" and "On Conformity Assessment to Technical Requirements and Accreditation of Conformity Assessment Bodies". The first of these laws has been in effect for almost 10 years. Therefore, today there is a need to revise these laws. As noted in the State Committee for Standardization, there will be no revolutionary changes in these acts, but there will be a certain reset associated with the fact that Belarus has become a member of the Customs Union. Therefore, it is necessary to fill the legislation with the practice of applying technical regulations and experience of working with other CIS countries. These draft laws have been prepared for consideration in the established manner by all interested parties.
