The meeting between the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and the President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi is taking place in Tehran, BELTA correspondent reports.

The Jumhuri residence in the Sa'dabad Palace-Park Complex was chosen as the venue for the meeting of the heads of state. According to protocol, the presidents' negotiations were preceded by an official welcoming ceremony. Ebrahim Raisi welcomed Alexander Lukashenko at the entrance to the residence. After shaking hands, the heads of state took their places on the podium.

After listening to the anthems and a ceremony with the participation of the honor guard company, Alexander Lukashenko and Ebrahim Raisi proceeded to the location of the official delegations of Belarus and Iran, and then went for negotiations. Traditionally, the presidents' meeting will be held first in a narrow, and then in an expanded format.

The Sa'dabad Palace-Park Complex is one of Tehran's main tourist attractions. The complex is located at the foot of Mount Darband and was built in the early 20th century. Sa'dabad once served as a summer residence for the last monarch of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. After the anti-monarchy revolution of 1978-1979, the residence was converted into a museum complex. It houses 18 palace-museums and other architectural monuments of the Shah period.
