New Rules for Hunting Management and Hunting came into force on September 25, 2018.

New Rules for Hunting Management and Hunting came into force on September 25, 2018. The Rules are approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 112 of March 21, 2018 "On Hunting and Hunting Management". When preparing the document, the opinions of hunters and other interested citizens were taken into account.

In general, the new Rules are more liberal. For example, carrying prohibited ammunition – bullets, buckshot – when hunting for non-quota species (ducks, hares, etc.) is no longer considered illegal hunting. For this violation, a hunter may be fined, whereas previously they were unequivocally deprived of the right to hunt. An exception is made for cases where the hunter's weapon is loaded with prohibited ammunition (bullets, buckshot), which still carries the risk of deprivation of the special right.

In driven hunts, not only hunters can participate, but also any person over 18 years of age can act as beaters. And owners of hunting dogs will have the right to walk them in hunting grounds without a leash, as long as the dog does not start pursuing game or attempt to hunt a wild animal.
