The situation in the Lepel district in this regard was described by the Head of the Internal Affairs Department of the district executive committee, Anton Karchevsky:

- The Internet and computer technologies are penetrating all spheres of human life. On the one hand, this opens up a number of prospects, on the other hand, it entails new risks and threats, and leads to an increase in cybercrime. Educational work with the population should become the main direction in combating this problem. We need to reach every person: explain how to behave in a given situation; remind what to do if scammers call you. After all, our people are being robbed – and this should not happen, - noted Anton Mikhailovich.

For reference: In the operational area of the Lepel District Department of Internal Affairs for 7 months of 2025, 28 crimes were registered in the line of combating cybercrime, which accounted for 24.1% of the total number of criminal offenses committed in the district. The total damage amounted to 106,254 rubles.
