I would like to note that interaction in the educational sphere is carried out with 73 regions of the Russian Federation. Issues of bilateral cooperation in education have been discussed during 12 joint meetings of working groups on interaction between the Republic of Belarus and the regions of Russia. Priority areas of cooperation in education remain: the implementation of the youth policy of the Union State and the creation of joint youth exchange programs, enhancing the academic mobility of students, researchers, and teaching staff, further improvement and convergence of the education systems of the Union State, and the creation of a mechanism for joint accreditation of higher education institutions," said Irina Starovoitova.
Universities of Belarus and Russia to sign over 40 agreements at the Forum of Regions
According to her, one of the areas of inter-university cooperation is the implementation of direct agreements. "Currently, there are over 1,800 direct agreements in force. I would like to note that more than 40 agreements will be signed on the sidelines of this forum alone. The number of joint educational programs, network interaction, academic mobility, mutual internships, and professional development courses has increased," the First Deputy Minister noted. "Resolving the issue of creating a Union State program for the development of mutual mobility of teachers and students of our universities, and supporting internships for teachers, postgraduate students, and master's students would contribute to strengthening this area of cooperation. Work continues on elaborating issues concerning the joint expertise of educational activities of organizations and independent assessment of the quality of education in the implementation of higher education programs. This will be facilitated by the development of common criteria for assessing the activities of Belarusian and Russian universities, in terms of improving scientific activities, the quality of the educational process, and promoting scientific research by employees of higher education institutions."
