"Elections of the President of the Republic of Belarus: the future depends on us" – this important socio-political topic was the subject of a meeting today between representatives of the district authorities and the staff of the Lepel District Gas Supply enterprise.

The discussion was held as part of the Unified Information Day.

  Presenting the topic of the meeting, Svetlana Shevelyova, Head of the Ideological Work and Youth Affairs Department of the District Executive Committee, emphasized that any electoral campaign is of particular importance for the country. The Presidential election is a key event for all of us together and for each of us individually, as it determines our future.

  — Belarusians will determine their future on January 26, 2025. This is the date set for the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus. Currently, signatures are being collected for the nomination of candidates for President. Signature collection will continue until December 6, 2024. An initiative group must collect at least 100,000 signatures in support of their candidate. Registration of candidates for President of the Republic of Belarus will take place from December 22 to December 31, 2024, — Svetlana Alexandrovna reminded about the important periods.

  It should be noted that pre-election campaigning, the most active and responsible stage of the election campaign, will be conducted from January 1 to January 25, 2025. On election day, January 26, campaigning is prohibited by law. Early voting in the Presidential election of Belarus will begin on January 21, 2025, and will continue for five days. The results of the Presidential election of the Republic of Belarus will be established by the Central Election Commission no later than February 5, 2025.

  The speaker also drew the attention of those present in the hall to the fact that our country provides for itself in all important spheres of life: under the leadership of the Head of State, it has been possible not only to preserve and modernize our industrial giants (MAZ, BELAZ, MTZ, BKMZ, and many others) but also to create completely new, high-tech enterprises (Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, China-Belarus Industrial Park "Great Stone", BELGEE plant, Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation, and other landmark facilities).

  Moreover, the social state, which cares for its citizens by actively developing healthcare and the social sphere, and providing assistance to low-income segments of the population, remains an unchanged national brand of Belarus.

  Other issues were also considered at the meeting. Thus, Natalia Skovorodko, a psychiatrist-narcologist of the Lepel Central Regional Hospital, spoke with the residents of Lepel on the topic of preventing alcoholism and drug addiction. The doctor also urged the residents of Lepel to be extremely attentive to their children – to be interested in their new acquaintances, to monitor their information hygiene, and to devote time to communication and interesting family leisure.

  — It is important to remember: your children will behave as you behave. Be an example, adhere to a healthy lifestyle, be active in society, do useful and necessary things – then your children will also grow up with the right views, – noted Natalia Ivanovna.
