According to the election calendar for the House of Representatives, approved today at a meeting of the Central Election Commission, the nomination of candidates for deputies to the Belarusian parliament will take place from July 15 to August 13, a BELTA correspondent reports. As Nikolay Lozovik, Secretary of the Central Election Commission, explained, in accordance with the electoral legislation of Belarus, candidates for district commissions are nominated by political parties and other public associations, work collectives, as well as groups of citizens by submitting an application. Next, it is necessary to provide a list of members of the initiative group, which will be engaged in collecting signatures in support of the candidate, and an application for registration. Documents are accepted by the district election commission of the district for which the deputy is running. A month is allocated for election campaigning.
