Belarusians can now drive their cars abroad no more than once every 8 days.

21 November, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. It is now possible to drive a car out of Belarus beyond the Customs Union once every eight days. This is stipulated by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of Belarus of 18 November 2011 No. 1554, as reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian government.
The document amends the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of 10 June 2011 No. 753 "On Certain Issues of Regulating the Export of Automotive Fuel from the Territory of the Republic of Belarus". The new resolution has been adopted to strengthen measures to limit the export of automotive fuel from the country and to stabilise the situation at border crossing points of the Belarusian state border.
Automotive fuel is not considered goods for personal use exported from the territory of Belarus by individuals outside the customs territory of the Customs Union in the following cases: an individual driving a motor vehicle leaves more than once within 8 days; the same motor vehicle exports automotive fuel more than once within 8 days, regardless of who carried out the export of such a motor vehicle during this period.
The provisions of this resolution shall not apply to employees of diplomatic missions, consular offices, international organizations, representative offices of these organizations and members of their families, upon presentation of diplomatic (service) passports or other documents confirming their status. Restrictive measures shall also not affect individuals working in state bodies and other state organizations, as well as military personnel, commanding and rank-and-file officers of the Investigative Committee, internal affairs bodies, emergency services, financial investigation bodies, sent on official business trips abroad (upon presentation of excerpts from decisions of the relevant bodies (organizations) and/or travel certificates issued by these bodies (organizations)). Restrictive measures shall also not apply to employees of state organizations of the Customs Union member states located in the territory of foreign states, drivers of motor vehicles engaged in international passenger transportation, employees of legal entities, as well as other individuals for valid reasons in accordance with the decision adopted by the State Border Committee and the State Customs Committee.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is instructed to take effective measures to prevent violations of traffic rules and public order in the territories adjacent to road border crossing points across the state border of Belarus, and to ensure constant patrolling of parking areas for vehicles leaving the country.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications, jointly with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Border Committee, and regional executive committees, shall equip parking areas before road border crossing points across the state border of Belarus, expand access roads to them, allocate a special corridor for vehicles of citizens of the Customs Union countries, and ensure the installation of additional road signs near the indicated points, defining the directions (lanes) of vehicle movement, and necessary prohibitory (prescriptive) signs and road markings.
The Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry is instructed to take measures to limit the sale of motor fuel (no more than 200 liters per truck) at gas stations located in the border area.
The resolution shall enter into force three days after its official publication.
