An art exhibition "Three Sofias: Sofia of Kyiv, Sofia of Novgorod, Sofia of Polotsk" will open in Polotsk in September as part of the international humanitarian project "Minsk Initiative," the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States informed BELTA.
An art exhibition "Three Sofias: Sofia of Kyiv, Sofia of Novgorod, Sofia of Polotsk" will open in Polotsk in September as part of the international humanitarian project "Minsk Initiative," the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States informed BELTA.
The exhibition will be the result of joint plein air sessions by young artists from Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. It will open during the celebrations of the 1155th anniversary of Polotsk and the 500th anniversary of Belarusian printing.
Within the framework of the "Minsk Initiative" project, meetings of writers and translators, as well as representatives of the creative and scientific intelligentsia of the three countries, are planned for 2017-2018. A seminar dedicated to the development of professional partnerships among journalists covering humanitarian topics in the media of Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine will be held. The implementation of the multimedia projects "Museum of Peace" and "Theatre. Our Heritage" is envisaged.
Another focus of the "Minsk Initiative" is an international project dedicated to staging puppet shows for children with special needs. This topic will be central to a meeting of directors, playwrights, composers, artists of puppet theatres, doctors, and psychologists from Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine, which will take place on June 19-20 at the Moscow Puppet Theatre. Special Representative of the President of Russia for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, Artistic Director of the Moscow Puppet Theatre Boris Goldovsky, Director of the Kyiv Academic Puppet Theatre Mikhail Uritsky, and Director of the Brest Puppet Theatre Alexander Yanushkevich will participate in this Belarusian-Russian-Ukrainian seminar titled "A Special Theatre for a Special Audience." They will discuss a joint production of a play for children with special needs.
