On January 11, Valentin Eduardovich Lovets, Head of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, gave a presentation to the work collective of CJSC "Zhitnitsa" in the village of Borovka. During the discussion, Valentin Eduardovich acquainted the attendees with the operational situation regarding fires and deaths from them, noting an increase in the number of fires and deaths in the region. The issue of observing fire safety rules when operating stove heating and electrical equipment, the need to maintain fire alarm devices in good working order, and how to properly use gas appliances, electrical devices, and primary fire extinguishing means was addressed. Given the current weather conditions, he reminded citizens of the inadmissibility of being on thin, unfrozen ice, the timely clearing of snow from the roofs of their homes, and how to behave during icy conditions. The issue of child safety was also raised, with the head of the department urging those present not to leave children unattended.
