9 August, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. Belarusian farms have surpassed the six million tonne mark for grain harvest, BELTA was informed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. As of 9 August, 6173.9 thousand tonnes of grain have been harvested with an average yield of cereals and legumes of 30.2 centners per hectare. The highest yield is in the Grodno region - 41.9 centners per hectare. The largest amount of grain was harvested in the Minsk region - 1509.2 thousand tonnes. The Grodno region is in second place (1114.9 thousand tonnes), and the Mogilev region is in third place (1030.1 thousand tonnes). Farms in the Brest region harvested 1014.3 thousand tonnes, Vitebsk region - 763.9 thousand tonnes, Gomel region - 741.5 thousand tonnes. Cereals and legumes have been mown on 2057 thousand hectares (84.4% of the harvesting area). Farms in the Mogilev region are leading in terms of harvesting speed (92%). In the Brest region, 87.3% has been harvested, in the Gomel region - 85.9%, in the Vitebsk region - 84.5%, in the Minsk region - 82.7%, in the Grodno region - 75.6%. 770.5 thousand tonnes of grain have been delivered towards the state order as of today (77.8% of the target). -0-
