8 September, Minsk /Tatyana Chumakova - BELTA/. As of the morning of 8 September, Belarusian farms had harvested buckwheat from 10.6 thousand hectares, which is 30.6% of the sown areas. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. 11.7 thousand tonnes of buckwheat have already been threshed, with a yield of 11.1 centners per hectare. The highest harvesting rate is in the Gomel region, where 44.8% of the areas (2.8 thousand hectares) have been harvested. The highest buckwheat yield is in the Grodno region - 16.3 centners per hectare. Millet has been harvested from 6 thousand hectares (44.5%), with an average yield of 20.5 centners per hectare, and 12.3 thousand tonnes threshed. Work continues in the corn fields. Corn for green fodder and silage has been harvested from 343.8 thousand hectares (53.4%), and for grain - 8.5 thousand hectares (5.3%). 38.4 thousand tonnes of corn grain have been threshed with an average yield of 45.1 centners per hectare. Potatoes have been harvested from 7.3 thousand hectares (14.3%), with 153.3 thousand tonnes of potatoes dug up at an average yield of 210.5 centners per hectare. Mogilev region leads in harvesting rate, where the crop has been harvested from 0.9 thousand hectares (21.4%). The highest yield is in Grodno region - 249 centners per hectare. Farms have harvested sugar beet from 6.6 thousand hectares (6.8%) - 251.8 thousand tonnes with an average yield of 378.9 centners per hectare. The highest harvesting rate is in the Minsk region (9.3%). The highest yield is in the Grodno region (404.3 centners per hectare). 150.4 thousand tonnes of sugar beet have been sent towards the state order (4.1% of the target). Sowing of winter cereals has been carried out on 284 thousand hectares, which is 19.6% of the plan. In total, 1449 thousand hectares of winter cereal crops need to be sown in Belarus.
