As of 27 August, the volume of fodder grasses prepared by Belarusian farms amounted to 4,600.1 thousand tonnes of fodder units, or 72.4% of the planned target. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Per conventional head of cattle in the republic, there are an average of 15.7 centners of fodder units, which is 2.3 centners more than in the same period last year. The highest fodder security is in the farms of the Vitebsk region - 19.2 centners of fodder units per conventional head of cattle. In the Mogilev region, this figure is 18.3 centners, in the Gomel region - 17.5 centners, in the Minsk region - 14.7 centners, in the Brest region - 12.7 centners, and in the Grodno region - 12 centners of fodder units. The main criterion for preparing fodder from grasses is the maximum approximation of nutrient content to the original raw material. Perennial grasses have been mown for the second cutting on 625 thousand hectares, which is 82.9% of the planned area. In terms of mowing rates, the Minsk region leads (101.7% of the target). The Brest region is in second place (93.3%), and the Grodno region is in third place (92.8%). In the republic, 1,267.9 thousand tonnes of hay (107.6% of the plan), 10,239.3 thousand tonnes of silage (115.6%), and 4,845 thousand tonnes of haylage (30.8%) have been prepared. Grain has been threshed by all categories of farms to the amount of 7,060.5 thousand tonnes, including 6,663.6 thousand tonnes by agricultural organizations. The average yield of grain and leguminous crops is 29.6 centners per hectare. 994.7 thousand tonnes of grain have been sent to fulfil the state order (100.5% of the plan).
