The Economic Court of Vitebsk Region has started selling debtors' property through social networks

22 March, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. The Economic Court of the Vitebsk Region has begun selling debtors' property through accounts on popular social networks, the court's press secretary Natalia Goncharova told a BELTA correspondent.
The social media accounts of the Economic Court of the Vitebsk Region are now used not only for locating debtors and notifying them of their debts. Bailiffs publish information on the official pages of the court regarding the sale of seized property. Parties interested in this information can join the group and automatically receive notifications about newly available property for sale. Information about ongoing auctions, including electronic ones, is also posted on the pages. Previously, this information could only be found on the website of the Supreme Economic Court of the Republic of Belarus or in the print media.
As bailiffs hope, widespread dissemination of information about auctions will allow seized property to be sold on the first attempt. This is in the interests of both the debtors themselves and the creditors in enforcement proceedings. "The larger the number of auction participants, the higher the competition and, consequently, the higher the price of the property sold through auction, because if there are no buyers, the auction is declared void, and in repeated auctions, the property value is reduced by up to 20%, and all costs for the auctions and their publications fall on the debtor," explained the press secretary.
Thus, the Enforcement Department of Court Orders provides citizens and legal entities with prompt information on the sale of seized property, ensuring the publicity and openness of the conducted auctions. All this contributes to the creation of an effective system for the development of e-justice, emphasized Natalia Goncharova.
In 2012, the Enforcement Department of Court Orders initiated almost 11.6 thousand enforcement proceedings, which is 26% more than in 2011. Over 8.3 thousand proceedings were actually executed for an amount exceeding Br242 billion, 12 million Russian rubles, $1.5 million, and 60 thousand euros. -0-
