On November 3, Vitebsk /Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. The XVI International Organ Music Festival "Zvany Safii" (Bells of Sophia), which will open on November 6 in Polotsk, will be the most ambitious in its history. This year, the program of the music forum has been expanded to eight concerts, reported to BELTA correspondent Lilia Yemelyanova, head of the concert department of the National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve. The organizers have managed, along with inviting high-level organists, to provide an opportunity for young talented performers to become participants of the prestigious Polotsk festival. In total, at "Zvany Safii - 2011", national performing schools from Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, France, Russia, and Belarus will be represented. Among the most significant events of the festival will be performances by world-renowned musicians. The opening concert has kindly agreed to be conducted by a friend and frequent guest of the organ forum, the famous German organist Joachim Eichhorn. On November 13, the festival program includes a performance by one of the oldest organ performers, Albert Visserhof (Netherlands). Another significant name for the Polotsk festival is Johann Trummer, a representative of the Austrian performing school and an active promoter of organ culture. Dr. Trummer opened the first "Zvany Safii" festival in 1996, makes a significant contribution to the development of Belarusian organ culture, and his participation in the program is also a great honor for the festival, noted Lilia Yemelyanova. The concert of the Austrian organist will take place on November 19.
