XXII International Specialized Exhibition "Mass Media in Belarus" Opens

The XXII International Specialized Exhibition "Mass Media in Belarus" starts its work today, BELTA was informed by the Ministry of Information.

The grand opening ceremony will take place at 12:00. The exhibition will be held from May 3 to 5. It is attended by over 50 exhibitors representing about 400 mass media outlets from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, China, Turkey, and other countries. For the first time, media outlets from Salekhard, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, will be presented. The exhibition area is over 1,000 sq.m.

The "Mass Media in Belarus" exhibition reflects the entire spectrum of the country's information space. Its participants include print and audiovisual national and regional media, internet resources, news agencies, cable TV operators and distributors, print distributors, and publishing houses.

Visitors will be able to familiarize themselves with the expositions of national and regional print and electronic media, specialized and departmental publications, newspapers of higher education institutions and industrial enterprises, and scientific organizations.

The exhibition offers the media community and visitors a rich program, which includes presentations of information and internet projects, autograph sessions, master classes, flash mobs, and much more.

Heads of mass media and journalists, representatives of the expert community will discuss significant issues of the media sphere functioning, the role of mass media in the development of society and the state within the framework of the exhibition's business program.

During the exhibition, there will be a presentation of the "Bel-Ros" TV channel of the Union's TRO, a presentation by BELTA for managers and employees of marketing departments of leading Belarusian enterprises. An important event will be the speech by Natalia Loseva, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of MIA "Russia Today," for media executives on the topic "Global Trends for New Media."

A number of events will be dedicated to the Year of Small Motherland. A round table "My Small Motherland" will be held by IU "Publishing House "Zvyazda" together with "Nastaunickaya Gazeta." BELTA will present the project "Legends of the Small Motherland: Slutsk Belts," and media outlets of the Grodno region will hold a presentation and master class of the project "Castles of Belarus."

A novelty of this year's media exhibition is the Regional Press Day, as it plays an important role in the information space. Regional Press Day will be held on May 4.

Another feature will be the Children and Youth Day. The children's playground, which will be open during the exhibition, will offer interesting and diverse programmes, and on May 5, a particularly large number of events for children will be held.

Traditionally, the "Mass Media in Belarus" exhibition honours the winners and laureates of the National Competition of Print Media "Golden Letter". The awards of the 14th competition will be presented on May 3.

The XXII International Specialized Exhibition "Mass Media in Belarus" will be held at the exhibition complex located at 14 Pobediteley Avenue.

The International Specialized Exhibition "Mass Media in Belarus" has been held annually since 1997 by the Ministry of Information with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minsk City Executive Committee, RUP "National Exhibition Centre "BelExpo", other government bodies, leading media outlets, and public organisations.
