Tension, characteristic of the most principled contests, reigned on the tatami of the "Atlant" sports complex in Novopolotsk. Gold was contested within the framework of the Open City Championship among boys and girls in the weight category up to 63 kg. And in this struggle, the strongest proved to be a representative of Lepel – Alina Pomaleyko, a trainee of the Trade Union Sports School for Wrestling "Bogatyr".
These competitions were dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the founding of judo in Novopolotsk. More than a hundred young athletes born in 2012-2013 and 2014-2015 gathered to test their strength, meet qualification requirements, and make a name for themselves.
For Alina Pomaleyko, the tournament became triumphant. Demonstrating honed technique, strength of spirit, and the will to win, the Lepel athlete left her rivals no chance.
The championship, held in a юбилейный year for Novopolotsk judo, once again confirmed: this sport in Belarus has not only a glorious past but also a promising future.
