Children develop a whole set of habits from the earliest childhood, including their behaviour patterns. Therefore, educators and parents should start teaching young children traffic rules and safe behaviour on roadways from preschool age. Initially, parents themselves must set a good example and avoid mistakes that the road does not forgive.
According to statistics, the largest number of accidents involving children occurs due to them unexpectedly entering the roadway from behind parked vehicles that obstruct the view, or crossing the roadway in an undesignated area.
Accidents involving children on the roads are mainly due to their distractibility and lack of adult supervision. Analysis of road traffic accidents shows that the main cause of road tragedies is the lack of safe behaviour skills on roads and streets, and the ability to observe: to survey their path, notice vehicles, and assess their speed and direction of movement.
