With the aim of enhancing public safety, intensifying fire prevention efforts, analysing their effectiveness, and assessing the readiness of territories for the autumn-winter fire hazardous period, the republican campaign "For Safety Together" is being held in Lepel District from October 20 to November 20.

The campaign aims to reduce the number of fires caused by citizens' non-compliance with fire safety rules in residential buildings and structures, increase public awareness of the capabilities of state organisations in providing safety services, strengthen law and order, and prevent offences committed by citizens under the influence of alcohol. During this period, personnel from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), inspection commissions, district police inspectors, social service workers, and volunteer fire brigades will visit the homes of single elderly citizens, disabled individuals, large families, and families in socially vulnerable situations. Control will be exercised over the rectification of identified fire safety rule violations. Administrative measures will be taken against violators of fire safety rules. To eliminate conditions conducive to fires and mitigate the severity of their consequences, in conjunction with housing and maintenance services and other organisations servicing the housing stock, checks will be carried out on the fire safety status of attics and basements in apartment buildings. Training on life safety fundamentals and measures to prevent fires and emergencies will also be organised for social workers, ambulance personnel, utility service workers, and other specialists to conduct preventive work with single elderly citizens and disabled individuals.
