Yury Mily, Chairman of the Lepel District Association of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, reminded those present that based on the results of 2016, five President of the Republic of Belarus "For Spiritual Revival" prizes were awarded, one of which was awarded to the FTPB for holding a large number of events aimed at the military-patriotic education of youth and for active participation in the reconstruction of the Kurgan of Glory. With the support of trade unions, in June 2016, in cooperation with the Belarus-3 TV channel, the film "The Return" was made about our fellow countryman, pilot Nikolai Pshonka, who died in the Great Patriotic War in the Krasnodar Territory. For over 70 years, he was considered missing in action, however, thanks to the joint work of Russian and Belarusian search teams, the hero's place of death was found, and he was reburied in his native land with full military honours.

Nikolai Misyura, Chairman of the District Council of Deputies, spoke about the reconstruction of monuments in the Lepel region and the improvement of burial sites of soldiers and partisans fallen in the Great Patriotic War, which is nearing completion.

Igor Urban, Head of the Department of Ideological Work, Culture and Youth Affairs of the District Executive Committee, provided specific examples of the educational activities of the work collectives of various enterprises and institutions, as well as individual residents of our city and district in his speech.

For active work in military-patriotic education, restoration and improvement of monuments and burial sites of soldiers and partisans of the Great Patriotic War period, the Lepel Communal Repair and Construction Unitary Enterprise "Budounik", OJSC "Lepel Repair and Mechanical Plant", State Institution of Culture "Lepel Regional Museum of Local Lore", military unit 71327, Chairman of the District Council of Deputies Mikolai Misiura, Chairman of the Kamensky Village Executive Committee Mikolai Sinitzyn, Chairman of the District Council of Veterans Vasyl Maisus, teacher of the State Educational Institution "Slabada Kindergarten-Secondary School of Lepel District" Valery Tukhta, librarian of the Sushan Village Library of the State Institution of Culture "Lepel Centralized Library System" Tatsiana Burtil, Deputy Director for Educational Work of the State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 3 of the city of Lepel" Alina Korsak were awarded Diplomas and valuable gifts from the district association of the FPB. Diplomas were also awarded to the branch "Lepel Bakery" of OJSC "Vitebskhleboprom" and the branch of Road Maintenance Unit No. 37 of the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Vitebskavtodor".

Popular pop songs performed by young Lepel singers Anastasiya Zhamosek, Yana Barynova, and Hanna Lebedzeva were performed for the event participants.
