On October 11, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. A truck worth Br800 million has been detained in the Vitebsk region for violating one of the articles of the Customs Code of the Customs Union, BELTA was informed by the Vitebsk Customs. During a special operation, officers of the anti-smuggling and administrative customs offenses department of the Vitebsk Customs, with the participation of the Novopolotsk inter-district department of the DFS of the State Control Committee, detained a truck with a semi-trailer carrying a machine tool, polyphosphate, and polyethylene from Belarus to Russia. During the inspection, it was found that the vehicle is registered in Estonia and does not have a permit for domestic transportation within the Customs Union. Thus, the requirements of Article 344 of the Customs Code of the Customs Union were violated. As explained by the customs authorities, this violation has signs of an administrative offense provided for by Article 14.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Belarus (non-declaration of goods and vehicles), which entails a fine of 20 to 5 thousand base units with confiscation of undeclared goods or vehicles. Similar measures for the confiscation of smuggled goods are applied in many European countries. The 2007 Iveco truck and Monotrans Servis semi-trailer have been detained.
