On January 18, around 1 AM, the rescue service received a report of a car fire on Kalinin Street in the town of Lepel.

When rescuers arrived at the scene, the Volkswagen Passat, manufactured in 1988, was observed to be on fire.

As a result of the fire, the engine compartment, interior, and paintwork of the car were damaged.

The cause of the incident is yet to be determined by experts. According to statistics, in similar cases, the most frequent cause of fires is a malfunction of the vehicle's electrical wiring, leading to a short circuit.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds vehicle owners of the importance of regularly diagnosing their vehicles at certified service stations and maintaining their vehicles in good working order.
