18 April, Glubokoye / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Parliamentarians intend to adopt a law on animal welfare during the current session. This was announced today at a meeting with the work collective of the open joint-stock company "Glubokoye Dairy and Canning Plant" by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Andreichenko, BELTA correspondent reports.
According to the speaker, deputies receive more than 150 letters a day from citizens with proposals for the draft law on animal welfare. The bill has generated significant public interest, and citizens' proposals are contradictory. For example, some propose to ban keeping animals in apartments, while others demand the removal of all restrictions.
Vladimir Andreichenko said that this bill will be submitted for consideration by deputies during the current session. The draft, in particular, provides that no more than two domestic pets will be allowed in apartments, and the keeping of fighting dog breeds will also be regulated. -0-
