The rise in water levels in the rivers of the Vitebsk region has become a serious problem for the residents of Lepel district as well. As a result of the rising water levels in Lake Lepel and Lake Prosha, and the Ula and Essa rivers in the town of Lepel, private yards and outbuildings, as well as some sections of roads, have been flooded.

As of today, a total of 1 house, 56 yards, 136 outbuildings, and 7 road sections have been flooded. A total of 119 people, including 16 children, are living in the flooded zone. A total of 1 person has voluntarily relocated.
To provide the necessary assistance to citizens who find themselves in a difficult situation, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations are taking all necessary measures to respond promptly to the current situation. Thus, since the beginning of the flood situation, rescuers have been regularly dispatched to provide assistance to the population in moving furniture and property.
Local authorities, together with interested services, are conducting daily monitoring of areas prone to flooding, as well as houses and yards where residents of the Lepel region have become victims of the spring flood.
Today, a patrol group inspected one of the roads in the village of Kuleshi, as well as the most flooded streets of the town of Lepel, to analyse the situation, help people, and provide instructions on procedures and adherence to personal safety measures.
