Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee Andrey Bolshakov took part in a meeting to summarise the performance of Vitebsk Customs for the first half of 2025, where he assessed the situation in the region and set tasks for the team for the coming half-year.

He noted the positive dynamics in customs clearance of import and transit goods, the performance of customs officials in specific border control functions, and the results of identifying administrative and criminal offences.

Andrey Bolshakov thanked his colleagues for their work and, outlining priority tasks for the future, paid special attention to ensuring the replenishment of the republican budget, strengthening customs control, including by maximising the use of scanning equipment, intensifying efforts to identify significant offences, and increasing the economic efficiency of preventive measures.

Particular attention is being paid to the organisation and implementation of timely customs clearance of goods and vehicles, taking into account the seasonal increase in the number of individuals crossing the border, including by bus, which is observed to be growing in the customs' area of operation.
