March 5, Minsk /BELTA/. Registration for professional and psychological interviews begins today. This is the first stage of the 2013 admission campaign in Belarus, Maria Karpenko, a consultant at the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, told a BELTA correspondent.
Future diplomats, managers, customs officers, journalists, and lawyers must undergo an interview. Registration will take place from March 5 to March 31 inclusive, and only in those higher education institutions designated as interview venues for specific groups of specialties.
All those wishing to enroll in higher education institutions for the specialties "Public Administration and Law", "Public Administration and Economics", "International Relations", "International Law", "Jurisprudence", "Economic Law", "Journalism" (including as a second specialty), "International Journalism", "Customs Affairs" must submit applications for the interview.
Applicants must register for the interview regardless of the form of future education (full-time, part-time, day, evening, second higher education). Applicants can register independently – for this, they must come to the university's admissions committee and submit an application expressing their desire to participate in the interview. A personal identification document (passport) must be presented. If the application is sent by mail, a copy of the personal identification document must be attached. Applications sent by mail must arrive at the university no later than March 31. Applications received after March 31 will not be considered. Registration for the same specialty (group of specialties) at different universities is not allowed.
The professional and psychological interview will be held from April 5 to April 30 in accordance with the schedules approved by the universities conducting the interview.
The interview is conducted in the form of an individual conversation between the commission and the applicant with the aim of identifying personal, business qualities, abilities, and motivation for studying the chosen specialty (group of specialties). Questions may be asked not only about why this profession was chosen, but also about the aspects of professional activity that the applicant considers most attractive, the prestige of the profession, and its social significance.
