The Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora reminds that, despite existing prohibitions, there are individuals who irresponsibly disregard hunting regulations and neglect the state of the environment.
These include poachers who use prohibited hunting devices – “snares” – for the illegal procurement of wild animals.
“Snares” are devices that are very simple to make and use, and they inflict agonizing death upon animals caught in them. Furthermore, during the hunting season, there is a high probability of hunting dogs falling into such “hunting devices”.
It should be remembered that illegal hunting, including the use of prohibited hunting devices, may entail administrative or criminal liability.
In addition, a violator who has procured a wild animal as a result of illegal hunting will be obliged to compensate for the damage caused to the environment.
