If pike are caught during the closed season, in accordance with current legislation, the fish must be released back into the fishing grounds alive. Catching this fish during the ban incurs administrative liability in the form of a fine of up to 30 basic units, or criminal liability if the damage caused amounts to 100 or more basic units. The amount of damage caused during the ban period is calculated at a rate of 9 basic units per pike.
