30 August, Minsk /Tatyana Lobas - BELTA/. The ban on visiting forests has been lifted in all regions of Belarus. Over the past few days, the fire hazard class has decreased, and there is no significant threat of fire spreading in the forests of Belarus. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Ministry of Forestry. In early August, due to the deteriorating fire situation in the forests of the republic, the Commission for Emergency Situations under the Council of Ministers of Belarus instructed the regional executive committees to issue decisions on banning forest visits and changing hunting seasons in accordance with paragraph 192 of the current Rules for Hunting and Game Management, approved by decree. This measure played a significant role in preventing fires – the situation did not get out of control. If fire outbreaks occurred, they were extinguished quite quickly, mostly by forestry workers. The Ministry of Emergency Situations was involved in approximately 60 cases out of 500. In total, since the beginning of the fire hazard period, 508 forest fires have been registered in Belarus, resulting in 333.3 hectares of forest being affected by fire. No forest fires were recorded in Belarus over the past weekend. Nevertheless, firefighting equipment is on full alert, and state forest protection services are ready to respond to forest fires at any moment.
