20 May, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. The thirty-second meeting of the Interbank Currency Council of the central banks of Belarus and Russia will be held on May 21-22 in Vitebsk. This was reported to BELTA by the Information Department of the National Bank of Belarus.
The meeting will be attended by the Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus, Petr Prokopovich, the Chairman of the Bank of Russia, Sergey Ignatiev, and other representatives of the central banks of the two countries.
Specialists will analyze the current economic situation and the implementation of the main directions of monetary policy in Belarus and Russia in the first quarter of this year, and the results of the banking systems' performance in 2009. The discussion will also cover the implementation of measures within the competence of the central banks of the Joint Action Plan of the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Russian Federation to minimize the consequences of the financial crisis, improve the parameters of the balance of payments, and improve the conditions for doing business and mutual trade.
In addition, it is planned to consider the bilateral balance of payments and the balance of payments of the Union State for 2009, the state of accounting (financial) reporting in the Belarusian and Russian banking systems, the dynamics of international reserves and foreign currency liquidity of Belarus and Russia based on the definitions used within the framework of the IMF's Special Data Dissemination Standard, and other issues.-0-
