In Glubokoye, the gymnasium, about 30 apartment buildings will be renovated, and a new swimming pool will be built for the regional festival-fair of agricultural workers "Dazhynki". This was announced to journalists by the Chairman of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee, Alexander Shubsky, before the meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
According to the head of the district, streets and sidewalks will be improved in the town, not only in the center but also in the private sector. Capital and current repairs of 28 apartment buildings are planned. In addition, a 60-apartment building will be constructed in the new microdistrict in the north of the town.
This year, Glubokoye intends to renovate the hospital as well. A computed tomography scanner has recently been installed, and the polyclinic department will undergo repairs. "Half of the renovation work on the gymnasium for 1,200 students has been completed. In addition to the building itself, better conditions for sports will be created: the stadium will be updated, where five classes can train simultaneously," said Alexander Shubsky.
The construction of a 25-meter, 4-lane swimming pool at the local Physical Culture and Sports Complex is ongoing in the district center. 72% of the work has been completed; the pool itself needs to be fitted out. Br1.5 million has been allocated for the completion of the work this year. In total, Br4.6 million will be spent on the construction of the facility. It is important for the townspeople, as some have to travel to the swimming pool in the neighboring towns of Dokshitsy and Ushachi.
In total, about 100 facilities are to be put in order in Glubokoye before "Dazhynki". "We have some other ideas that we don't want to disclose yet. We will do something exclusive to create more interesting places in Glubokoye for residents and guests. Our town is visited by 50,000 tourists annually," added the chairman of the district executive committee.
The meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee also discussed the performance of industrial enterprises in the Glubokoye district. Local processing plants have low capacity utilization. They mainly source milk and meat from the district's farms, but this is insufficient, so raw materials are also supplied from the Minsk region. The district leadership has been instructed to address this issue, including exploring the possibility of importing raw materials from abroad.
