Based on the results of recent years' work, the department holds a leading position in the region. Of the total number of crimes, the majority of which are thefts of personal property, 70 percent are solved. Crimes classified as grave and particularly grave have a 100 percent clearance rate.
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the ROVD, Police Major Alyaksandr Pawlowski, has achieved significant professional growth. Senior Operative Officer of the department Yauhen Kazhan, who was awarded the honorary title "Best in Profession" based on the results of 2011, is coping excellently with his duties. Senior Operative Officers of the department – Police Major Alyaksandr Dudko, Senior Lieutenant Uladzimir Pyatrischa, Lieutenant Ivan Patotski, and others – know their job well.
Many warm words were addressed to the department's staff at a solemn collective meeting dedicated to the Day of Formation of the Criminal Investigation Department, held in the assembly hall of the Lepel ROVD. The Head of the Lepel ROVD, Police Lieutenant Colonel Mikalai Latysheu, extended his best congratulations to the law and order guardians. The Head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Police Colonel Valery Traufimau, expressed sincere gratitude to the staff of the criminal investigation department for their dedicated service. Senior Operative Officer Yauhen Kazhan was awarded an Honorary Diploma, and gratitude from the Head of the Criminal Investigation Department was announced to Operative Officer Ivan Patotski. Many employees of the department were awarded monetary bonuses for the conscientious performance of their assigned duties.
