16 December, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. The number of loss-making enterprises has started to decrease in the Vitebsk region, the Economics Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. This year, a positive trend has been observed in some qualitative economic indicators of the region. Thus, for January-October of the current year, the net profit of enterprises increased 2.3-fold compared to last year, reaching Br1.6 trillion. All districts of the region, except for the Shumilino district, worked with a positive financial result. Overall in the region, compared to January 2011, the number of loss-making organisations decreased from 145 to 69. Their share of the total number currently stands at 6%. According to the Committee, a stable trend of sales profitability growth has formed this year. Overall for the region's national economy complex, it increased from 3.5% to 7.5%, including in industry from 3.2% to 8.1% respectively, and in agriculture - from 1.6% to 8.9%. For January-September of the current year, overall for the industrial enterprises of the region, costs per Br1 thousand of manufactured products decreased by 4.8% compared to January-September 2010, the level of material intensity and energy intensity of products decreased by 2.2% and 6% respectively. For industrial enterprises of communal property, these indicators decreased by 1.7%, 0.5% and 13.7% respectively. According to preliminary estimates, for 2011, organisations in the region will receive Br1.8 trillion in net profit, sales profitability will be 7.6%, and 24 organisations will remain loss-making. -0-
