An investment project to build a passenger car manufacturing plant in Belarus in cooperation with the Chinese corporation Geely is planned to be implemented by 2015. During a working trip to the Minsk region on April 12, Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich visited the production site of OJSC "Borisov Plant "Avtogidrouselitel", where passenger cars are planned to be assembled. "In cooperation with the Chinese corporation Geely, an investment project is planned to assemble 10,000 cars from CKD kits," the press service noted. "From 2012 to 2015, it is planned to build a new plant with a production capacity of up to 60,000 passenger cars, and in 2015-2016, to increase the plant's capacity to 120,000 cars." The Prime Minister reviewed issues of contractual relations, equipment supply, and car certification. The head of government also visited OJSC "Borisovdrev". "Here, workers expressed dissatisfaction with low wages, but to a greater extent, the team is concerned about the prospects of the enterprise, which is in a difficult economic situation," the press service reported. Mikhail Myasnikovich, together with the Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Boris Batura, heads of the "Bellesbumprom" concern, commercial banks, and other stakeholders, reviewed the main issues related to the enterprise's development. "New MDF board production with a capacity of 60,000 cubic meters per year must be commissioned," the press service added. "In particular, the re-equipment of plywood production and the construction of a boiler house will be financed." The head of the "Bellesbumprom" concern, Vladimir Shulga, had to listen to a lot of criticism.
