Long gone are the days when a woman's destiny was solely focused on family and household chores. In addition to their roles as mothers and keepers of the hearth, women are successfully mastering numerous professions, including traditionally male ones, and more recently, private business. Their diligence and skill contribute to the prosperity of the region, making our land more beautiful year after year.
The grateful Lepel region annually honours the best representatives in various fields for the holiday, bestowing the honorary title "Woman of the Year".
This year, 16 representatives from enterprises and organisations have been awarded this high title. Two women represent the healthcare sector: Valentina Sevruk, a psychiatrist-narcologist at the regional psychiatric hospital, and Svetlana Kostritskaya, a nurse at the district hospital. Another two represent the education sector: Valentina Erashova, a physics teacher at the gymnasium, and Lyudmila Zhavoronkova, a lecturer at the agricultural and technical college.
Lyudmila Usovik, Director of the Chareyshchyna Cultural and Leisure Centre; Olga Lavrinenko, Head of the catering combine; Lyubov Pravila, technician at ATP-14; Natalya Shepel, order receiver at Staysky KPP; Ella Khatskevich, psychologist at the Territorial Centre for Social Services of the Population; Galina Kazachenko, chief accountant at MKC; Svetlana Gadas, accountant at the flax factory branch; Larisa Sadovskaya, site manager at SVP "Prazhektor"; Irina Urban, workshop supervisor at "Pramshveymebel"; Natalya Silvanovich, occupational safety engineer at PMK-75; Svetlana Trakhovtsova, accountant at the land reclamation systems enterprise; and Lyudmila Yaromenka, economist at DRBU-202 – they have successfully realised themselves not only in their families but also in their professional activities.
In addition to the title "Woman of the Year of Lepel Region", the laureates are awarded Honorary Diplomas and bonuses equivalent to five base units.
