There is no decrease in those wishing to undermine the Belarusian state from within. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, today, while receiving a report from the Minister of Internal Affairs, Yury Karaev, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"We agreed with you once that, having familiarised yourself with the situation and settled in, you would report on the situation and say what is necessary. I think that, having analysed last year's results, you can now draw appropriate conclusions and say what else we need to do within the internal affairs bodies to make the police work more effectively," said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
The Head of State noted that there are shortcomings in all government bodies, including the police. "But we cannot do without the police, because the local police officer is with the people, and the minister today is not detached from society. Without the police, we will not be able to ensure stability in our state," the President is convinced.
According to him, it is not even about some political campaigns: they have been conducted in the country more than once, so they will be conducted calmly this time as well. "We need to look further ahead – to ensure we have a stable society. We need to keep our ears to the ground: there is no decrease in those wishing to undermine us from within. Unfortunately, most of those who express such desires are our so-called citizens. It is difficult to even call them citizens. Everything is bad for them, they want to undermine the authorities in some way and divide society, to make things worse. They use any moment. I read their various statements not only on the internet but also in the so-called mass media," noted Aleksandr Lukashenko. "Therefore, I personally assign a very important role to the police in ensuring stability in our society."
