The Vitebsk region hosted the republican event "Women at the Harvest-2025" on a grand scale, dedicated to women working in the agricultural sector. The focus was on heads of departments, foremen, agronomists, cooks, accountants, and crop farmers – those who, through their labour, ensure a reliable rear for the harvesting campaign and the country's food security.

The ceremonial honouring of the best female workers took place at the District Centre of Culture and Folk Art. The event, initiated by the First Channel of Belarusian Radio with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Belarusian Trade Union of Agricultural Industry Workers, the Vitebsk Regional Branch of the Belarusian Union of Women, and Belteleradiocompany, has been held in the Verkhnedvinsk district for the tenth time.

The distinguished guests of the celebration included Nikolai Leshik, Head of the Main Department of Crop Production of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food; Svetlana Yallina, consultant of the Financial and Credit Policy Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food; Tatyana Dikanova, Chairperson of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Agricultural Industry Workers; and Svetlana Bashilova, special correspondent for Belarusian Radio.

"Women are the strength upon which Belarus's food security rests," emphasized Tatyana Dikanova. "Their work often remains behind the scenes, but it is thanks to them that the harvest proceeds without interruption, and the land yields a rich crop. We are proud of these heroines of the invisible front and thank each of them for their dedication and skill."

This year, thanks to the diligent work of women, the gross grain harvest in the district exceeded last year's level by more than 10 thousand tons, and the yield increased by seven centners. For their significant contribution to the country's bread basket, over 20 female workers received well-deserved awards from representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the regional trade union organization of agricultural industry workers, and the Women's Union. The heroines of the harvest received multi-channel radio receivers from Belarusian Radio.

The warm and heartfelt event was held in an informal "get-together" format. Female workers from Verkhnedvinsk shared their secrets of success, future plans, summed up the results of their daily meticulous work, and simply relaxed their souls.

In the foyer of the District Centre of Culture and Folk Art, exhibitions were held by folk craftsmen, the Verkhnedvinsk Tourist Information Centre, the district newspaper "Dzvinskaya Pravda," the District Historical and Local Lore Museum, and OJSC "Verkhnedvinsk Dairy and Canning Plant," showcasing the richness and diversity of the Verkhnedvinsk region.
