11 December, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. A resident of Glubokoe district forced his former cohabitant to return under threat of death, the head of the Postavy district department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus, Yevgeny Sinilo, told a BELTA correspondent. A "blockbuster" in the best Hollywood traditions unfolded on December 10 in the village of Svirany, Postavy district. A 40-year-old stoker from one of the schools in Glubokoe district arrived at the local shop, having overcome a considerable distance, not for shopping at all. The man decided to persuade his former civil wife, who had left to live and work in a new place after their breakup, to resume their relationship. However, his persuasion found no response in the woman's heart. Then the man decided to achieve his goal by force and began to threaten cruel retribution, demonstrating a hunting rifle seized from his home. For greater effect, he even fired it at the shop window. The argument proved convincing. The lady of his heart immediately asked for forgiveness for everything and admitted all her mistakes, and when the calmed-down suitor left, she called the police. The man was detained by law enforcement officers on the Polotsk - Glubokoe - Lithuanian border highway near the village of Olkhoviki on his way home. A criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Belarus for threat of murder, the maximum penalty for which provides for arrest for up to six months.-0-
