A resident of Lepel saved money for housing but fell victim to fraudsters

The Lepel District Department of the Investigative Committee is establishing the circumstances of a fraud committed on a particularly large scale. The fraudsters contacted the victim via a messenger. The scheme is old: they told him about a loan being issued in his name, the money was allegedly transferred to the fraudsters, and that people would come to him for an inspection for assisting "dishonest" individuals, conduct a search, and seize all available funds. After that, they gave advice: in order not to lose his savings, he needed to "declare" them by transferring them to a specific account. The callers also pointed out the need to install a remote access application. The man followed the instructions and lost 59 thousand rubles. When the victim realized he had been deceived, he contacted law enforcement agencies.

Investigators remind once again: as soon as the conversation with strangers turns to money, immediately end the conversation. Tell your family and friends about this fraud scheme.
