The State Automobile Inspectorate will hold a Unified Road Safety Day titled "Life is More Important Than Speed!" across the Vitebsk region on July 29. Very often, exceeding the speed limit is the cause of road traffic accidents. Reckless drivers not only refuse to learn from the mistakes of others but also endanger the lives of many people. Every day, a sufficient number of speed enthusiasts risk becoming statistics in road traffic accidents.

We remind you that for exceeding the speed limit by 20 to 30 km/h, the fine will range from 1 to 3 basic units; for exceeding the speed limit by 30 to 40 km/h, from 3 to 10 basic units; and for exceeding the speed limit by more than 40 km/h, from 8 to 12 basic units. For a repeated offense of speeding within a year, drivers may even lose their driving license for up to one year, or be fined from 5 to 15 basic units.

The State Automobile Inspectorate reminds drivers that when choosing a speed, they must consider the speed limits established by the Traffic Regulations, traffic control devices, as well as traffic intensity, road visibility, the characteristics and condition of the vehicle and its load, road and weather conditions, and other factors that reduce atmospheric transparency and affect road visibility in the direction of travel.
All events conducted by the State Automobile Inspectorate on this day will be aimed at preventing road traffic accidents due to exceeding the established speed limit.

The State Automobile Inspectorate reminds all drivers that in the event of accidents at high speeds, the severity of the consequences of the accident increases manifold! When setting off on a journey, remember one simple truth: he who is not in a hurry always arrives on time.
